Ninth Global Conference on Flexible Systems Management was held at National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai, INDIA during 12 – 14th November, 2009. The theme of the conference was “Flexibility in Management and Technology for Global Business Excellence”. The conference was co-hosted by Indian Institute of Technology - Bombay, National Insurance Academy - Pune, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven - Belgium and University of Texas at Dallas - USA.
During the 3 days of the conference aficionados like Prof. K. P. Karunakaran, IIT Bombay, Mr. V.V.S. Mani, Aspire Infinite, Mumbai, Mr. V. Kalyanaraman, Singapore, Mr. Sudhir Gupta, TATA Autocom, Pune, Prof S. S. Mantha, AICTE Vice-Chairman, Prof. Rajan Saxena, Vice Chancellor, NMIMS University, Mumbai, delivered key note addressed on the respective relevant themes: Rapid Prototype Manufacturing, Theory of Constraints, Lean Enterprises & Six Sigma, Supply Chain Management as single window solution, Robotics for Flexible Manufacturing Excellence, and Flexibility in Marketing and Services Management. Around one hundred national and international delegates from academia, research and industry presented their research work in concurrent sessions, to synchronize with related topics on flexibility in Supply Chain, IT and Knowledge Management, HR practices, Marketing, Operations, Manufacturing, Education, Finance and Economics. It proved to be an excellent platform for the knowledge amalgamation.
The announcement for the GLOGIFT 2010 Conference was made by Dr Rashmi Jain, Stevens Institute of Technology, NJ, USA, Co-host of the Conference. “Designing for Flexibility for the future” will be the theme and the conference will be held from 26th to 28th July 2010 in Hiyoshi Keio University, Japan.
