Washington, May 22 In a bid to move forward the Indo-US civilian nuclear deal, India has sought speedy negotiations of reprocessing arrangements as well as liberalization of the export licensing procedures.

India's newly appointed Ambassador to the United States Meera Shankar said that New Delhi would like to move forward in a concrete way with agreements for building nuclear reactors with US assistance in the country.

Addressing a reception hosted in her honour by the US-India Business Council (USIBC) in Washington, she expresses satisfaction in the growth of ties between India and the US.

This was Shankar's maiden public engagement after presenting her credentials to President Barack Obama.

The USIBC, which comprises some 300 American and Indian companies, is the largest Indo-US trade body and had played a key role in the passage of the civilian nuclear deal.

Shankar said unlike in the past when one looked with skepticism at the country, India no longer has a credibility problem of economic reform process. (ANI)
