Christian Bale released after arrest for alleged assault

Washington, July 23 (ANI): Actor Christian Bale was arrested and released following assault allegations made by his own mother and sister.

According to the reports, the 'Dark Knight' star lashed out his mother Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, on Sunday at London's Dorchester hotel, where he was staying before Monday's U.K. premiere of The Dark Knight.

Bale was questioned by London police and released after several hours. He has not been formally charged.

Meanwhile the actor has denied the allegations made by his mother and sister. Bale has to return to the station in September pending further inquiries.

According to Usmagazine.com, a police spokesman - who declined to identify Bale said: "A 34-year-old man attended a London Police Station on Tuesday by appointment and was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault. He remains in custody."
