Srinagar, Aug 23 (ANI): The meeting between the Shri Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti (SASS) and the four member panel to find a peaceful solution of Amarnath land dispute ended on a positive note and both the sides have agreed to carry forward the dialogue process.

Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra had earlier appointed a four-member panel to talk to the Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti, which is spearheading the agitation for restoration of land to the Amarnath Shrine Board.

The four-member committee side is headed by Tilak Raj Sharma while the government side is headed by the former Chief Secretary, S.S. Bloeria. He is now Adviser to the Governor.

Earlier, the SAYSS announced a series of agitational programmes, including the launch of a civil disobedience movement against the administration, till all its demands were met. The Samiti has called for a complete shutdown on August 25.

Police has arrested 18 people in connection with large-scale protests over the land imbroglio.

Earlier this month, wide scale protests over the Amarnath land issue led to violence and a riot like situation in the state. (ANI)
