Bhopal, April 24 (ANI): A unique garden comprising various plants related to different zodiac signs and planets as per Hindu belief has been raised here.

These plants are stated to be of rare trees and represent nine planets, 12 Rashis (zodiac signs) and 27 Nakshatras (constellations) as mentioned in Hindu scriptures. Believers visit this garden to worship these special plants by taking help of priests to seek peace.

The objective behind this garden is to popularize astrology among general masses and spread awareness.

"Various things are mentioned in our philosophy. People worship Peepal tree. When somebody faces problems in getting their children married, they worship the banyan tree. But they are not aware of the science or logic behind it and just blindly follow it. So to make them aware of that logic and give them the required knowledge, the park has been planted with such trees. Specific plants suiting various zodiac signs have been planted here," said H.N Gautam, coordinator of Astrological Park and a zonal officer with the forest department.

As per the garden staff, the park is first of its kind in the State, which is gaining popularity among the people.

Having belief in astrology they worship the trees related to their individual zodiac signs to resolve the problems which they fear have been caused by evil effects of planetary positions.

"Such types of plants should be planted more. They should be worshipped more because whenever we worship any tree, it blesses us. Similarly if some planet is casting evil effect on you, then worshipping the tree related to that planet will certainly solve all your problems," said Pramod Purohit, a priest.

Astrology remains an important facet in the lives of many Hindus. In Hindu culture, newborns are traditionally named based on their horoscopes. Astrology concepts are pervasive in the organization of the calendar and holidays as well as in many areas of life, such as in making decisions made about marriage, opening a new business, and moving into a new home.
