Ahmedabad, April 24 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Shourie on Friday said that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi should become the Prime Minister after party's prime ministerial candidate Lal Krishna Advani.

"In my personal opinion, the next Prime Minister should also be elected from Gujarat after Advani becomes the Prime Minister after ongoing general elections," Shourie told a press conference here.

Arun Shourie further said that Gujarat has made rapid development under Modi's leadership, which made him the best candidate for PM's post.

The BJP leader blamed the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government for 'misusing' institutions like Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Governor's office.

"The CBI has become Congress Bureau of Investigation under the UPA government," he added.

Shourie stated that Naxalites and Maoists were successful in creating 'red corridor' from Nepal to Andhra Pradesh.

He criticized the Central Government for its foreign policy failure in Nepal, saying Maoists-ruled Nepal has now become a gateway for China.

"The Nepal chapter marked the biggest failure of the foreign policy of UPA government," he added. (ANI)
