London, June 24 (ANI): No matter who becomes the next US President - Barack Obama or John McCain - the Oval Office is sure to welcome a left-hander once again. Both Obama and McCain are left-handers. Leaving George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter, all US Presidents since 1974 have been left-handers - namely Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford. Interestingly, this is not the first time when two left-handed Democratic and Republican nominees are taking on each other, for a similar all-southpaw contest was seen in 1992 when Clinton beat the first President Bush. Two left-handed nominees again contested for the oval office in 1996, when Clinton won a second term against Bob Dole. Al Gore, who won the popular vote in 2000 but lost the election to Mr Bush, is left-handed, as is John Edwards, the Democratic vice-presidential nominee four years ago. James deKay, author of The Natural Superiority of the Left-Hander, believes that left-handed people have certain attributes that make them good presidential material. "Logic belongs to right-handers. Intuitive thinking belongs to left-handers. Left-handers tend to work alone, are good at handing off assignments and don't micromanage," Times Online quoted deKay as saying. (ANI)
