Akram advises rookie pacer Aamir to gain some weight to survive rigours of cricket

Islamabad, June 24 Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has commended new teenage pace sensation, Mohammad Aamir, for his brilliant show in the ICC Twenty 20 Championship, but said that the young speedster needs to put on some weight to survive the tough world of international cricket.

"For someone who can consistently bowl at 90 miles an hour, Aamir is definitely cut out for pace bowling. He is tall and need to put on some weight to gain extra power," The News quoted Akram, as saying.

Praising the 17-year-old fast bowler, he said Amir has immense talent, and would be the mainstay of the Pakistan bowling attack in near future.

"Look out for this young man. I spotted him along with Mudassar Nazar and Aaqib Javed two years ago at a training camp. He played for Pakistan under-19 and now he is opening the attack. He is definitely promising," said Akram.

Akram explained that the lanky bowler, who hails from Rawalpindi, could swing more with the Kookaburra ball due to his natural action.

"He (Aamir) will get more wickets with the Kookaburra ball. He has a natural outswinger. With a Kookaburra, he will get the ball to come in and that will be even more deadly," he added. (ANI)
