New Delhi, August 24 (ANI): Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) General Secretary Prakash Karat on Sunday called on Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati in New Delhi to find a National alternative to Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). According to reports, both leaders held discussions for around three hours at Mayawati's New Delhi residence. Karat avoided talking to reporters who were waiting outside the BSP chief. Reportedly, the two leaders discussed about the formation of a 'national alternative' to the two mainstream parties. The meeting comes in the wake of Mayawati unilaterally announcing that her party would contest all the 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. Earlier on Saturday, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu had called on both Karat and Mayawati, and according to sources he had discussed ways to evolve the 'Third Front'. (ANI)
