Kathmandu, Aug 25 (ANI): Nepali Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav has reportedly said that his country would keep an equal distance from both India and China since "the dynamics of diplomatic ties have changed".

Yadav said that the new Nepali government will keep "equal distance" from its two neighbors, India and China, reported the Xinhua.

The foreign minister, also chairman of Madhesi People's Rights Forum (MPRF), the fourth largest party in the Constituent Assembly (CA), was sworn in on Friday alongside seven other ministers.

Yadav said the new government will not tolerate meddling into Nepal's internal policies by foreign diplomats.

He also defended Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal's ongoing China tour, saying it was for the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics, and not intended to "keep India at a distance".

However, he said, the visit would help consolidate ties between Nepal and China. (ANI)
