New Delhi, Aug 25 (ANI): The Delhi Police on Monday gunned down two members of a bikers' gang, which was involved in number of recent shooting and robbery incidents, in an encounter.

Gang leader Om Prakash alias 'Bunty' and one of his associates Rajesh were killed in the police encounter in Badarpur area of south Delhi at around 5:30 a.m.

Three policemen suffered bullet injuries and were rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), where condition of the one of them is stated to be critical.

According to sources, the action took place after the police received information that Bunty was hiding in a building in Badarpur locality. A police team was rushed to the spot where the accused locked them.

Three imported pistols, four country-made pistols, live cartridges and two spring-actuated knives were recovered from them.

Earlier, the Delhi Police had declared a reward of Rs 50,000 each on the five members of the gang. Three members of the notorious gang, Zakir, Rakesh and Mushtaq, were arrested on August 1.

The gang had been involved in four shootings mainly in South and East Delhi. It made news on July 5 when its members gunned down 25-year-old Sonu, a property dealer, outside his Sangam Vihar residence.

According to reports, the gang also killed two friends, Ashneet Singh (24) and Harjeet Singh (26), at Amar Colony near Lajpat Nagar two weeks later. And barely a few minutes later they shot dead 30-year-old Sanjeev Suri near the Andrews Ganj crossing when one of the stolen bikes ran out of fuel.

The very next day the same members of the gang shot Naresh and Pawan, in South Delhi's Dakshinpuri area. Police also suspected their role in the robberies at two shops in East Delhi in July. (ANI)
