London, Oct 25 Ashes of the last survivor of the Titanic, Millvina Dean, have been scattered in the sea, at the point where the historical ship began its ill-fated voyage. Millvina passed away on 31 May this year at the age of 97. She was nine weeks old when the liner sank after hitting an iceberg in the north Atlantic in the early hours of 15 April, 1912, which resulted in the deaths of 1,517 people. And yesterday, her partner Bruno Nordmanis, 87, scattered her ashes from a small launch at Southampton Docks - the point from which the Titanic departed 97 years ago. The sun came out briefly moments after her ashes fell on the water. "It has not been a sad day at all but a day full of nice memories. She was a lovely lady," The Scotsman quoted David Hill, of the British Titanic Society, as saying. (ANI)
