Over 100 students fall ill after mid-day meal in Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 25 Over 100 students fell ill after taking the mid-day meal in a government school in the national capital Wednesday. All the students were out of danger, police said.

New Delhi, Nov 25 (IANS) Over 100 students fell ill after taking the mid-day meal in a government school in the national capital Wednesday. All the students were out of danger, police said.

The incident took place in Sharda Sen Rajkiya Kanya Vidhyalaya in Trilokpuri in east Delhi Wednesday afternoon, a police officer said.

'After having the mid-day meal, some of the students started vomiting and complained of stomach pain and nausea. They were immediately rushed to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital and were discharged by 5 p.m.,' Additional Commissioner of Police (East) Anand Mohan said.

Mohan said food samples have been sent for chemical examination and the matter is being investigated.

Delhi Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely has sought a report on the matter, Officials said.
