New Delhi, Rajasthan Chief Minister Smt Vasundhara Raje has said that by all means Rajasthan commands a fair position to hoist the refinery. The Chief Minister exclaimed that if ONGC reverses its decision of putting up a refinery in Rajasthan, it is a "total injustice'' towards the state and would affect the interest of state adversely. She said that all the meetings worked out with ONGC had been favorable and state government is committed to set up the refinery in Rajasthan. In a statement on Tuesday Smt Raje said that the meeting of State officials with ONGC held on 11th of June too does not indicate any negative sign rather ONGC Chairman has reaffirmed its commitment to establish the refinery in Rajasthan. The ONGC Chairman has assured its commitment to the development of a well head refinery project in Rajasthan. The ONGC will look forward to suggestions from the Government of Rajasthan so that the task of proposed refinery could be accelerated. Besides this, the ONGC in a letter addressed to state government on 21June has expressed its intention to set up refinery. Smt. Raje confided that in this view ONGC and Centre would certainly take the judicious decision. Smt Raje asserted that state government is making whole hearted efforts to make the Barmer refinery project viable and in this context Rajasthan is also in talk with Centre.
