Mumbai, June 26 (ANI): Bollywood film 'Via Darjeeling' is all set to hit theatres nationwide on Friday.

'Via Darjeeling' is set in modern day Kolkata and Darjeeling. The movie is based on an age old Bengali tradition called 'adda' where friends get together during rains and exchange stories and gossip over drinks and dinner.

'Via Darjeeling' is a co-production between the National Film Developmentorporation of India (NFDC) and the Moxie Entertainment.

The film is directed by Arindam Nandy and stars noted television and Bollywood actors, Kay Kay Menon, Sandhya Mridul and Sonali Kulkarni.

Nandy said the movie is a tribute to the country's oral tradition of story telling.

Sonali Kulkarni, the lead actress, was very excited about her role in the movie.

"In this film, I play Rimli. Rimli is a newly married girl. She is out on her honeymoon with her husband. Her honeymoon doesn't go the way she wants or the audience would want. There's a lot of surprises in her honeymoon," said Sonali.

The story revolves around Ankur (Kay Kay Menon) and Rimli (Sonali Kulkarni), a recently married couple on their honeymoon in Darjeeling. But on the eve of their return to Kolkata, Ankur disappears.

The Inspector-in-charge, Robin Bose, searches high and low, but Ankur is no where to be found. When he questions Rimli, the only clues she is able to give him, are of a taxi driver Ankur had fought with and a mysterious looking man whom she thought was following her throughout their trip in Darjeeling.
