New York, July 27 Bob Dylan was ready to take one of Elvis Presley's famous silkscreens for payment, when Andy Warhol coaxed him to The Factory to do a screen test.
In a new book, titled 'The Genius of Andy Warhol', authors Tony Scherman and David Dalton have revealed how Dylan grabbed one of the Prince of Pop's famous silkscreens off the director's wall.
The authors claimed that Dylan's six-minute take in front of the cameras, "acting cool, pretty much keeping his mouth shut", came with a price.
After the audition, Dylan "got up and walked over to one of [Warhol's] panels of Elvis with a gun and said, 'I think I'll just take this for payment, man.' That was the only the time I ever saw Andy blushing, just kind of cringing. Somebody demanding payment!" Contactmusic quoted playwright Bob Heide, a Factory regular, as telling the authors.
However, Dylan never made it into one of Warhol's flicks.
The book will be out in November from Harper. (ANI)
