Melbourne, October 27 Girls with masculine first names are likely to have a successful career, according to a new study. Researchers at Clemson University in South Carolina found that women with masculine names in the legal profession earned more money than their counterparts with feminine names. According to the What's in a name? ... study, they were also more likely to be appointed to judgeships, reports the Age. Investigators further found that the more masculine the name, the better it worked for women. A woman named Kelly had a five per cent better chance of taking the seat of a judge than a Sue, while Cameron's odds are tripled and a female Bruce's are quintupled. (ANI)
