Lucknow, (IndiaPRwire) Sahara One Media and Entertainment has announced the appointment of Sharmista Rijhwani as CEO of its flagship television channel Sahara One. The appointment is effective with immediate effect.

Sharmista Rijhwani has been associated with the media industry for almost 2 decades. Starting out at The Indian Express where she managed new strategic ventures, Ms Rijhwani has had a tryst with the advertising business too. She spent a decade at Buena Vista where she laid the foundations for the launch of many leading television channels in the country including Disney, ESPN, DIRECTV, Hallmark and Kermit. She also launched & headed Fashion TV for a short period. Her most recent success story is Ten Sports, which started out as the virtual underdog in the company of giants, but emerged the Number 1 Sports Channel in South Asia in less than five years, under her leadership.
