Following thesuccess of the 119th Osian’s Durand Cup in Oct-Nov 2006, India's premier art auction house Osian’s- connoisseurs of art andIOS Sports & Leisure (Infinity Optimal Solutions Pvt Ltd) have come together in a strategic partnership to take over a prominent Delhi football club – New Delhi Heroes (Established in 1939)
It is for the first time in the history of Indian football that a professional sports management agency has taken over the management of a football club. It is also the first ever corporate takeover of a football club in Delhi. As promised by both Osian’s and IOS, the takeover is the next step in developing the infrastructure of football in India through an amalgamation of art and culture for the football loving fans of the country.
“This takeover is another step in our continuing process to develop the game in India. We want to make the club a pioneer in Indian football. Right from its management to training facilities available, every thing will be world class” said founder-chairman of Osian’s, Mr. Neville Tuli on the first-of-its-kind takeover. He added, “we will conduct regular training camps under foreign coaches and build both a youth academy and a training centre to foster talent”.

They beat the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry 3-2
They are also six-time DSA League winners – 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1958, 1959 (most ever)
Objective: It is a part of Osian’s and IOS’ long term vision to create international level infrastructure for the game in the country, starting from the capital itself. Osian’s and IOS want to give the football loving public of Delhi a place on the football map of the country. The aim of taking over New Delhi Heroes is to provide football fans in Delhi with a club that competes at the national and International level with the best clubs in the country and abroad.
Future Plans:
IOS aim to provide improved facilities to the players which include – A World Class Playing Field, Gymnasium, Swimming Pool, Medical Facilities, Regulated Diet, Accommodation, other training facilities, designer jerseys etc.
Implement a comprehensive youth development programme to foster football talent in India.
Compete and Win in the NFL top division
Commenting on immediate plans for the club IOS CEO, Mr Neerav Tomar said that “we aim to sign on players who have represented the Indian team or have played in the National Football League (NFL) division 1 clubs. The coaching team will consist of top quality coaches and training staff. We want to work our way up to the top tier of the NFL, but we will be taking things one at a time.”
Players who IOS is in talks with for New Delhi Heroes include Dipanker Banerjee, Shanta Singh, Mohommed Najeeb and Sujoy Dutta. Coaches IOS is in talks with include Nigerian Chima Okorie and Mohammed Habib. Nothing is finalised yet, talks with the players and coaches are still on.

Currently leaving in New Delhi in India I just arrive here in India few months ago, my main reason of coming here is to find a suitable football club to be acquainted with. I was once playing for 2nd Division in my country Nigeria as a right forwarder, some time my coach also play me a central midfielder. I we be really glad if I can get any club in any part of Asia who we like to try me out.
