Zardari staying at PM House for 'security reasons'

Islamabad, Aug 29 (ANI): PPP Co-chairman and presidential hopeful Asif Ali Zardari has been living in the Prime Minister's House for the past one week for "security reasons", fearing a possible attack from militants because of his recent criticism of the Taliban and call for banning the organisation.

Sources in Islamabad said that Zardari planned to stay in the PM's House till the presidential election scheduled for Sept 6.

They said that the PPP co-chairman moved to the Prime Minister's House on the "advice" of his colleagues in the government.

"Zardari has been advised to stay in a safe place and under the cover of official security," the Dawn quoted a member of the federal cabinet as saying.

He said Zardari had also been advised much earlier to move to the Prime Minister's House but he was reluctant to do so. However, after a security breach at his F-8 residence, Zardari decided to shift to the PM's House. (ANI)
