New Delhi, Sep 30 The Union Home Ministry on Tuesday sought cooperation of the people in "these trying times" to prevent repeated blasts in various parts of the country.

"I think its time now that everybody put their hands together, put their shoulders to the wheel and see that these things don't happen," Union Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta told reporters at New Delhi on Tuesday.

Expressing concern over the spate of terror strikes, Gupta said, "These are trying times that we are going through. We will continue to do utmost and see that these things don't happen and that people behind them are caught."

The country has seen 44 explosions in last 140 days beginning May 13 in Jaipur. The blasts have left 152 people dead and 445 injured.

These explosions include the low-intensity bombs that exploded in Mehrauli on 27th September and two in Malegaon and Banaskantha in Gujarat on Monday. (ANI)
