Sonamura (Tripura) Jan 31 (ANI): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar today filed his nomination for the State Assembly election from Dhanpur constituency in West Tripura District. He submitted his nomination papers in the Sonamura sub-divisional magistrate's office. Sarkar said development would be his party's election agenda. "We have been telling repeatedly that development is our main issue and we are bringing this in front of the people of the State to choose us for further development," said Sarkar, after filing his nomination. Before submission of the nomination papers, hundreds of Left Front supporters participated in a colourful procession that went through Sonamura. They shouted slogans for victory of the Left Front and Sarkar. Arabul Rehaman, one of the participants at the rally, said that the State will elect the party to power, which will work for development. Meanwhile, three Cabinet colleagues of Sarkar, Finance Minister Badal Chowdhury, Agriculture Minister Tapan Chakraborty and Animal Resource Development Minister Pranab Debbarma also filed their nominations from Hrishyamukh constituency in South Tripura District, Chandipur in North Tripura District and Simna constituency in West Tripura District respectively. Tripura will vote to elect the 60-member State Assembly on February 23. (ANI)
