Melbourne, May 31 (ANI): He has been successful in creating a niche for himself in Hollywood, but for Hugh Jackman acting was never a career choice.

In a recent interview, the 'X-Men' star revealed that fate played a very big role in making him enter the film fraternity.

At the age of 21, Hugh had just completed a communications degree and his dream was to bump TV host Mike Walsh off his perch as the king of daytime TV.

But through the passing of his grandmother, fate intervened, pushing him into enrolling at the Actors Centre - the school which changed his career path forever.

Having initially balked at paying the school's enrolment fee of 3500 Australian dollars, Jackman's stellar acting career wouldn't have begun had his grandmother not left him the exact amount of money he needed.

"It was a pivotal moment in my life,'' The Daily Telegraph quoted him, as saying.

"I didn't really want to be an actor - I only just got accepted because someone else dropped out at the last minute.

"But then when my grandmother left me the money it just felt as if the stars had aligned," he added. (ANI)
