New Delhi, May 31 Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Lal Krishna Advani was unanimously re-elected as the Leader of Opposition and Sushma Swaraj as his deputy for the 15th Lok Sabha on Sunday evening.

The decision was reached during a meeting of the Members of Parliament, held in the capital. BJP's future strategy for the parliamentary session was also discussed.

Advani's re-election holds significance, especially in the wake of the veteran leaders' initial refusal to continue as the Leader of Opposition following BJP's poor show during recent LS elections. He had asked the Parliamentary Board to choose another leader.

However, Advani was later persuaded by other senior members of the party to not take such a decision in party's interest.(ANI)
