London, June 24 (IANS) British comedian Russell Brand was left a bit dazed when a pair of pink knickers hit his face at the Irish premiere of his new film 'Get Him To The Greek'.

An amazed Brand, who will marry fiancee singer Katy Perry in October, held up the flowered pink underwear thrown by one of his female fans while posing with fans at the Savoy Cinema in Dublin, reports dailymail.co.uk

Speaking about the film, which also stars comedian Jonah Hill, Brand said he thinks he could win an Academy Award for the role.

'I play a drug addict and as I have been doing extensive research on them for past 10 years, it was easy to portray the role. I would prefer to get an Oscar as, I reckon, I have got a chance,' he said.
