London, June 24 (IANS) Singer Victoria Beckham surprised everyone when she came dressed in a short, strapless leather dress and thigh-high boots for a star-studded fashion event here.

The former Spice Girl arrived at a launch party of the Rooms and Suites that fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg had designed for Claridge's hotel.

Another surprise at the event was pop queen Madonna, who went for a masculine look in a tailored black suit, striped shirt and fedora hat. Actress Gwyneth Paltrow opted to go with black short dress.

Also present at the Claridge's bash was Dasha Zhukova, girlfriend of Chelsea FC boss Roman Abramovich, Jo Wood, ex-wife of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood and actress Joan Collins.
