बीकानेर के कृषि विश्वविद्यालये के खजूर अनुसंन्धान केन्द्र मे उगाई जाने खजूर की कई विशेष किस्मे बाजार मे आमजन के लिए भी उपलब्ध हो गई है। कोटगेट क्षेत्र मे एक ठेले पर विक्रय के लिए उपलब्ध खजूर। गौरतलब है कि दो दिन पूर्व ही राज्यपाल एस के सिंह ने इन खजूर की स्पेशल किस्मों को चखते हुए इसके विश्वस्तरीय अनुसंधान करने की राय के साथ ही इससे विभिन्न व्यंजनों बनाने की भी संभावना व्यक्त की थी।
