हिन्दु धर्म मे आज के दिन “निर्जल एकादशी” को विशेष धार्मिक दिन माना गया है। जिसमे हिन्दु धर्म जहां बिना पानी और अन्न के पुरा दिन बिताकर उपवास करते है, वहीं शहर की गली मौहल्लों मे लोग सामुहिक रूप से ठण्डे जल के साथ विभिन्न पेय पदार्थो को धर्मार्थ निःशुल्क पिलाते है। बीकानेर के एक मौहल्ले मे गन्ने का रस पिलाते मौहल्लावासि।
