Rajasthan from all over world should meet on one forum - Gehlot

Gehlot was addressing the non-resident Rajasthanis at function organized in his honour by the Jaipur Jewelers of New York on Thursday

The Chief Minister,  Ashok Gehlot said that the Rajasthanis residing in India and abroad should meet on one forum atleast once in every two-three years and discuss the development of the state and the ways to put Rajasthan on the path to progress. 

Gehlot was addressing the non-resident Rajasthanis at function organized in his honour by the Jaipur Jewelers of New York on Thursday. 

Gehlot said that the first International Rajasthani Conclave was organized in the year 2000 in Jaipur during the previous tenure of this government. He said that Rajasthanis from India and abroad took part in this conclave in large number and discussed how the state could be put forward on the path to development. He said that the people of Rajasthan had made the state proud at the International level. 

Gehlot said that over the years Jaipur had emerged as an important city at the International level. The wide roads and big over bridges and flyovers were telling the tales of the development of the city, he added. 

The Chief Minister said that he had been hearing the talk of land to the jewellers in Jaipur from a long time. He said that the long delay in this matter had been caused due to lack of initiaves from both the sides. He assured that State Government's cooperation in every field according to the expectations of jewellers.

Referring to the previous tenure of his government,  Gehlot said that the State Government did not left any stone unturned for solving the problems of the people at that time also, but Rajasthan had some peculiar problems. He said that we had made concerted efforts for improving power supply. He said that shortage of water was a natural problem for which we had initiated 'Harit Rajasthan Campaign' so that the state become green and get more rainfall. Praising the policies and the work of the UPA led Central Government; he said that because of this India had to suffer less on account of economic depression as compared to other countries.

Earlier, the jewelers of New York welcomed and honoured the Chief Minister and other Ministers. The Home Minister  Shanti Dhariwal, Industries Minister  Rajendra Pareek, Water Resources Minister  Mahipal Maderna, Medical & Health Minister  A.A. Khan, Tourim Minister Smt. Bina Kak, Rajya Sabha MP  Ashaq Ali Tak, Chairman of RANA  Rajiv Garg and other important persons were present in the function. From the side of jewellers  Hari Das Kotawala,  Suresh Goel,  Kailash Rawat and  Kailash Jhalani welcomed the guests and also proposed the vote of thanks. 

Foundation of Rajasthan Bhawan
The Chief Minister will lay the foundation of Rajasthan Bhawan being constructed by RANA in New York on Friday. The Media Chairman of RANA  Prem Bhandri informed that the Auditorium of Rajasthan Bhawan will have a capacity of one thousand people.
