Chief Minister  Ashok Gehlot has said that Rajasthan police has improved its skill and work efficiency and today Rajasthan police is working as a service provider organization. He said State Government is committed to equip the police force with new resources.Shri Gehlot was addressing as Chief Guest of passing out parade of officer of 46th batch of RPS and 59th batch of constables here at Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA) on Friday. He inspected the passing out parade.The Chief Minister said police personnels have various challenges before them. At one hand they have to prepare themselves to face terrorism, naxalism and cyber crimes while on the other hand they have to fulfill the expectations of the society. Police force has to play these roles effectively.Shri Gehlot said police is an integral part of the society and with the aim to make students aware about the working of police force the State Government is going to implement the Student Police Cadet scheme under which students of class 9th and 10th will work as a volunteer in programmes of police other departments.The Chief Minister said the State Government has taken various steps including increasing annual grant in Rajasthan Police Benevolent Fund from Rs. 40 lakh to Rs. 1 crore 99 lakh. Annual grant in Rajasthan Police Welfare Fund has been increased from Rs. 25 lakh to Rs. 50 lakh. He said mess allowance for constable and head constables has been increased from Rs. 725 to Rs. 1500 per month. For the first time Rs. 1750 per month has been sanctioned as mess allowance for Asst. Sub Inspector to Circle Inspectors. Various other allowances have also been increased for police force, he added.Shri Gehlot said decision has been taken to appoint 22,000 new constables in 2012-13 and 2013-14. He said for the first time Gram Rakshaks will be appointed in 9177 Gram Panchayats of the states. He said  during 2009-10 to 2013-14 decision has been taken to open 13 ASP offices, 30 DSP offices, 15 ST/SC cells and 99 new police stations and chowkis. He said to promote police investigation and training Sardar Patel Police and Security University has been opened in Jodhpur. To strengthen police training new Police Training Schools will be opened in Alwar, Bharatpur and Bikaner while Police Commando Training School will be opened in Jodhpur.During the ceremony Chief Minister honoured the overall best trainee officer of 46th batch of RPS under training Ms. Swati with Sword of Honour and Chief Minister's Gold Medal. RPS under training Shri Nanag Ram Meena was awarded medal for best trainee RPS officer in firing and outdoor category. Trainee constable Shri Narayan Singh and Ms. Ashu were jointly awarded medal and certificate for securing first position in best trainee constable category.DGP Shri Harish Chandra Meena called upon trainee RPS officers and constables to carry the prestigious tradition of Rajasthan police. Additional Director General of Police and Director of Rajasthan Police Academy Shri B.L.Soni asked the police constables to honour the oath they had taken.Shri Soni said Chief Minister has given nod for the water project of PHED to solve the water problem of Police quarters.
