Gehlot met PM Singh & Coal Minister Jaiswal

Ashok Gehlot continues on meeting with central ministers for Rajasthan's need

New Delhi, Pursuing his efforts for overall development of Rajasthan, including setting up of a refinery in the state, Chief Minister  Ashok Gehlot has met Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today at 7, Race Course Road in New Delhi. In his meetings  Gehlot discussed various development issues beside oil refinery at Barmer region of Western Rajasthan especially on coal Linkage, coal blokes' infrastructure development and social sector.

The Chief Minister during his meeting with Prime Minister requests are being made for a long time for setting up Refinery in Rajasthan and it is the appropriate demand of the State. He said investment worth Rs. 30-35 thousand crores will come and employment would be generated on a large scale after setting up of Refinery. He said commercial production of crude oil in Rajasthan will reach to 20 percent of the total crude oil production of the country. He said Rajasthan is the only State not having oil-refinery even though it has oil-field. He said that the State Government has given its consent to provide every facility desired for the oil refinery & also accepted the recommendations of the Tripathi Committee.

Gehlot also requested to the Prime Minister regarding needs of sufficient coal and gas for the on going power projects of the State. Before meeting with the PM Singh Gehlot also met with Union Coal Minister  Sriprakash Jaiswal at his Official residence in New Delhi.
Afte meeting gehlot brief to media and said that he has apprised the Prime Minister, UPA Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Union Petroleum Minister Dr M Veerappa Moily about the common man's need of the refinery in the State.
