Chhattisgarh selected Official State at Display on New Year.

Chhattisgarh Tourism Board (CTB), today announced that 'Chhattisgarh' has been chosen as the official state at display by the Ministry of Tourism, India for the month of December 2010.

Mumbai, The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board (CTB), today announced that 'Chhattisgarh' has been chosen as the official state at display by the Ministry of Tourism, India for the month of December 2010. 

Chhattisgarh is celebrating its 10 years of an independent state. CTB along with the Govt. of Chhattisgarh are supporting the ten year celebrations by pronouncing Chhattisgarh as the destination for this New Year. Both CTB and Govt. of Chhattisgarh are promoting the 'Wow Chhattisgarh'; this New Year discover something new' campaign.

Chhattisgarh, India's 26th state is easily accessible in central India. It is a treasure trove of natural beauty. Since almost 44% of the state area is under forest cover, there is ample opportunity to see wild animals in their natural habitat. The State is home to some of the country's biggest and most impressive waterfalls. It abounds in exquisitely carved temples, Buddhist sites, palaces, caves and hill plateaus. Tourists can also experience the culture of some of India's oldest tribes.

The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board right from its inception has been involved in developing the infrastructure and promoting the hospitality industry to make Chhattisgarh a state to be reckoned as the next holiday destination. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Subrat Sahoo, Secretary Tourism, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Chhattisgarh said, "The success of Chhattisgarh as a tourist destination has been largely due to the many offerings of the state such as its unique and rich cultural heritage. It is one of India's richest bio-diversity habitats; we are also committed to becoming a hub for bio-diesel." 
Mr. Tapesh Jha, Managing Director, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, said, "We are very excited about the new Wow Chhattisgarh campaign. We are confident that most of inbound and outbound tourist will choose Chhattisgarh as their destination for New Year."
