MDLR Airlines to launch Delhi-Jaipur flights

Gurgaon-based MDLR Airlines is launching air services between Delhi and Jaipur six days a week, beginning Oct 15

Jaipur -  Jaipur would be the sixth destination in MDLR's network. The company will fly a four-engine jet aircraft with six business class and 64 economy class seats.
'Aviation in India is recording unprecedented growth. Buoyed by emerging opportunities, MDLR forayed into airlines in 2006 based on the concept of regional to all-metro connectivity,' Nupur Mehta, vice-president, corporate affairs, MDLR Airlines, told a press conference here Wednesday.
The project was set up in a record time of 12 months. 'Currently our fleet comprises two aircrafts. A third aircraft will be commissioned by October end,' she added.
The company at present operates flights between Delhi, Ranchi, Kolkata, Chandigarh and Jodhpur.
MDLR recently purchased two helicopters, which will be used as private charters.
As part of its expansion plan, MDLR is planning to set up a flying training academy. Mehta claimed that the academy would be first to be equipped with latest training aids, including simulators. 'It would be functional by March 2008,' she said.
Besides this, the company intends to launch a heliport in Gurgaon near the national capital. It also intends to offer heli-charter and heli-taxi services in different states
